Shaphan was a biblical figure who lived in the 7th century BC. He was a scribe and a secretary to King Josiah of Judah. He was the son of Azaliah and the father of Ahikam, Gedaliah, and Gemariah. He was also the grandfather of Elasah and Gemariah. Shaphan is best known for his role in the discovery of the Book of the Law.
