Sinay

My best ideas surface somewhere around lap forty.

I'm Sinay. I build small companies end to end: the product, the story, and the numbers behind it. Most mornings start in the water.

I love the stretch between an idea and the first person who pays for it, and I like doing all of it myself: writing the code, finding the words, and checking the numbers still hold.

The pool is where plans get tested, quietly, one length at a time. The rest of the day is building, too much music, and three good things written down before bed.

Things I keep relearning

  • Ship fast, learn faster.
  • Marketing is a product feature.
  • Distribution starts before the build.
  • Measure what changes decisions.

Product & Engineering

Code, architecture, RSC-first interfaces, clean data models, and product loops that can survive the first customers.

Things I've started

Small ventures, each taken from an empty page to real users. Some grew, some taught me where to turn.

Retention OS interface sketch

Retention OS

  1. The gap I noticed

Solo founders knew churn was coming but lacked a lightweight signal layer.

  2. What I built first

Built a cohort dashboard with Stripe imports and event-based risk scoring.

  3. How I found people

Launched through founder communities with teardown-style onboarding calls.

  4. What happened

Validated a services-to-software wedge and pivoted toward lifecycle playbooks.

Launch Ledger interface sketch

Launch Ledger

  1. The gap I noticed

Small launches had scattered experiments and no shared source of truth.

  2. What I built first

Shipped an experiment tracker with KPI snapshots and weekly review prompts.

  3. How I found people

Used public build notes, LinkedIn carousels, and warm outbound to operators.

  4. What happened

Reached the first paid pilot and narrowed the ICP to B2B micro-SaaS teams.

Signal Studio interface sketch

Signal Studio

  1. The gap I noticed

Early products needed better messaging before spending on acquisition.

  2. What I built first

Created a prompt-assisted positioning workshop and landing-page scoring tool.

  3. How I found people

Bundled it as a fixed-price sprint with before/after landing-page breakdowns.

  4. What happened

Turned repeated consulting patterns into reusable productized workflows.

In the water

73.8 kilometers swum this past year. 39 mornings in the last 20 weeks.

Rest day3 km or more

On my headphones

Nothing playing right now. Probably in the pool.

See everything I listen to

Three good things

From my journal, Thursday, October 1

  • looking at my children
  • my family
  • ignore looking at the Apple watch

What I'm working on

  1. Testing a sharper onboarding loop

Reducing the first product action to one decision and one measurable outcome.

  2. Learning where paid search breaks

Mapping the gap between high-intent keywords and actual founder willingness to pay.

  3. Swimming as operating rhythm

Using long sessions to pressure-test strategy and reset attention before deep work.
